Is long term car hire the same as long term car rental?

Yes. Long term car hire and long term car rental mean the same thing: a car on a monthly rate for several months, handed back at the end. EzAuto rent to own is a longer rental with insurance, tracking and licence included and the option to own the car at the end of the term.

What is long-term car rental in South Africa?

Long-term car rental is a month-to-month or multi-month hire from a rental company. You pay a monthly rate that usually covers insurance, servicing and roadside assistance, and you hand the car back at the end. It suits short assignments and visitors, but nothing you pay goes toward owning the vehicle.

Is rent-to-own cheaper than monthly car rental?

For anything beyond a few months, rent-to-own is usually the better value. Monthly rental rates are priced for flexibility and climb in peak season, while EzAuto's rent-to-own is a fixed all-inclusive rental billed monthly that ends with the option to take ownership of the car. Rental keeps you mobile; rent-to-own keeps you mobile and gives you something at the end.

Do I need a credit card for rent-to-own?

No. Traditional rental companies require a credit card in your name plus a sizeable pre-authorisation hold. EzAuto asks for a rental deposit and proof that the rental fits your budget — no credit card and a soft credit check only.

Can I get a long-term vehicle if I'm blacklisted or under debt review?

Most rental companies decline applicants without a clean credit card and credit record. EzAuto's rent-to-own is a rental agreement assessed on affordability, not credit history, so blacklisted and debt-review applicants are welcome. Approval sits around 90%.

What do I need to qualify with EzAuto?

A minimum gross income of R14,000 per month, a valid South African driver's licence, and 3 months of bank statements (6 months if you are self-employed). Soft credit check only.

How long is an EzAuto rent-to-own term?

Terms are structured around your budget and the vehicle you choose, and are far shorter than a 60-month or 72-month bank commitment. Your consultant confirms the exact term and the ownership option before you sign.

Are there mileage limits?

Yes — like every long-term rental product, EzAuto rentals carry a mileage allowance. Your consultant confirms the allowance for your vehicle before you sign so there are no surprises.

How does the rental deposit work?

The amount you pay up front is a rental deposit. The conditions attached to it are set out in your signed rental agreement — ask your consultant to walk you through them before you commit.
